Projects and Partners
1. Democracy and Institution Building
Objectives: Stabilization of democratic structures, development of a culture of Democracy and strengthening of civil society
Partners: Parliament, political parties, government institutions, think tank structures
Projects: Training courses for Political Management, Barometer on the Development of Political Parties, political clubs (regular discussion forum).
2. Decentralization and Local Government
Objectives: self sustainable local governments
Partners: Ministry of Local Power and Decentralization, National Association of Municipalities, Department of the Public Administration at the Council of Ministers
Projects: Tax reform for local governments, reform of the legal framework, regional sustainable economic development.
3. Civil Society and Media
Objectives: strengthening of Civil Society and of standards of human rights, developing of mechanisms for the settlements of social conflicts, fighting women´s discrimination, enhancing the inter-religious tolerance and journalistic ethics
Partners: universities, NGOs, religious institutions, network of journalists
Projects: studies and round – tables on elements of a civil society, on peaceful ways of conflict solution, on gender issues, youth emancipation, religious co-habitation, and on transparency of the Media.
4. Labour Relations and Social Security
Objectives: Labor relations system based on “tripartism”, strengthening trade unions and employer´s organizations, reform of the social insurance systems
Partners: Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Trade unions, Albanian Employers´ Association, Institute for Social Security
Projects: Labor law revision, improvement of social reform legislation, training of trade union officials, tripartite activities.
5. Economic reform
Objectives: establishment of a social market economy.
Partners: Center for Social and Economic Studies, different Ministries, social partners
Projects: studies and seminars on problems of economic and social transformation, privatization, poverty and labor markets.
6. EU Integration
Objectives: Promotion of EU Integration, information of the public on chances and problems of EU accession, capacity building within Albanian institutions
Partners: Council of Ministers / Department for Integration, Parliament, Albanian European Centre
Projects: EU monitoring (studies, conferences and publications), study programs in Brussels and in other Eastern European countries, short term consultancy.
